Jam Play
JamPlay.com is hitting it big in the guitar world. Their website is a membership only service which broadcasts high-definition video guitar lessons. They have brought together guitar instruction with interactivity... even allowing you to ask questions to their video instructors. They feature 4-5 guitar instructors to give you a selection in teaching methods, which is a big plus.
They teach by "lesson set" instead of just flopping out a ton of small video clips. They start with the very basics like tuning your guitar, finger placement, and basic chords, and move on to finger-picking, palm muting, hammer ons, pull offs, and many more advanced topics as you progress through the lessons. We found this surprisingly good for the overall experience, because you can follow through these lesson sets just how you would with a normal guitar teacher. Biggest thing is, it's cheap as well because they get so many members.

Playing lead guitar is definitely a flashy gig. You get to play all the cool solos and you tend to be the center of attention. Being able to play lead guitar licks and solos requires a lot of practice.
But all that practice will pay off, have faith. Below are some secrets that will help you get the most out of your playing. Before you know it you'll be a bona fide lead guitar superstar.
1) Get a Metronome
Lead guitar work requires excellent timing. To help you build up your timing you will want to get your hands on a metronome. You can either get an electric one or an old school weighted one, they both work fine. Build up your speed gradually, don't rush anything. If you take the time to develop clean, smooth playing it will make your playing that much better.
2) Get Your Scales Down
Now that you've got your metronome you need something to play along to it. Start out with the C major scale, or whatever one you like.Again, start out slow and build your speed up gradually. Mix up the order in which you play the notes. For example, play every third note of the scale or play notes in chunks of three or four. Focus on playing smooth and steady, you'll be surprised at the improvements you'll make.
3) Play Along
Take your favorite song or record a chord progression and play along over top of it. The key is to find out what sounds good with what. Once your ear gets used to the sounds you playing becomes more fluid and you can improvise much better. Experimenting is the key, don't be shy and just play.
4) Practice
Obviously. But seriously, more important than the practice is the consistency in which you do it. It's way better to play 5 days a week at a half hour a pop rather than once a week for 2.5 hours. The guitar is not a natural thing for the hand to do so you've got to get it used to being around the neck.
All of the above mentioned, if applied, will improve your lead guitar skills tremendously. Follow them all and you'll get to where you want to be. Learning The Guitar
The guitar would be one of the most popular instruments to play and quite easy to learn.
There are 7 major chords being A B C D E F G and for the beginner these would be the first chords to learn.
You would only need to learn 3 chords at a time there is a million songs out there with only 3 chords in them. And these songs are the most easiest to start with as a beginner.
Song Key
A song always has a key and the first or starting chord would be the key.
If a 3 chord song is in the key of A the other 2 chords would be D and E or if the song key is C the other 2 chords would be F and G.
An easy way of working out what chords go with a key is this:
If the song is in the key of A then A is chord number 1 the other 2 chords are always the 4th and 5th being D and E.
This happens with any key the starting chord (key) is always 1 along with the 4th and 5th.

4 Steps to Learning How to Play Any Song on the Piano
1. Determining The Melody - Melodies determine what chords will be played. If you can use your ear to figure out what notes are being played in the melody, you are 1/4 on your way to learning a song! More resources on learning how to determine melodies
2. Harmonizing The Melody - Once you have figured out the melody (using some of my techniques on the resource page), it is time to harmonize it. This is simply choosing various chords to accompany the melody. There are several tips and techniques to do this.

3. Altering Chords - This is the best part! Now that you have strategically figured out the melody to a song and have harmonized it, altering your chords to produce certain sounds is the next step.
If you were playing gospel music, you would alter your chords differently than if you were playing classical or country music. More resources on altering chords
4. Listening - After you have determined the melody, harmonized the melody, and altered some of your chords, there are various techniques you can use to make sure that your song sounds right.
